Umichan Maiko Agent Academy Updates

I will soon make updates the the pre-alpha prototype posted below:

UMAA pre-alpha prototype

It will still be pre-alpa as I am still setting up the infrastructure to support a large scale game that will have a lot of content added.

I need to make sure stuff is optimized now while it is still small
, and not have to deal with a nightmare scenario later where I need to find some performance issues in a already large game that many different parts to check.

The goal here is:
replace some placeholder art with actual game art.
make recommended changes to weapons and POV scrolling.
Set up infrastructure to be able to do VN style dialogue.
investigate and possibly resolve issues with lag and frame loss
animate some of the top down hentai parts

Below is weapon art
1 & 3 are waterguns. There is a them park location the game where Maiko will be able to shoot fun waterguns.
2 & 4 are automatic type weapons.
the rest inducing the penis are pistol type weapons.
I’m not sure how many different weapons I will have since you will need to use you other tools such as sentinels and Khalei to give you the edge in the shooting minigame.
Character like Phia and Ari will have their unique weapons. In a old MMD video I made Maiko had a double chain-gun weapon that I might also use here.

Blow is Maiko’s agent gear outfit compared to Arielle and Phia. For A lto of Maiko’s outfits you will be able to click them to change how they are worn. I plan for this to just be cosmetic and not actually effect story scenes. But there may be some hidden stuff to use it for!

Unlike UMCC and UMCH, In this game, Maiko will not be living alone! She will be living with Holly. If you played Umichan Sentoryu you have an Idea for the crazy shenanigans that can happen. Maiko will still be able to travel to the School and mall areas. However there will be other areas to travel to also.

A while back https://twitter.com/badrielfun completed the Background Artwork for Umichan Maiko Agent Academy!

The front section is the actual school.
The left building with the sentinel is the science/experiments/robotics building
The back building with the gun turrets and landing pad is a the Agent training facility
The right building is a indoor pool.
And finally the center dome type building is a Holodome. This building can simulate various other areas from a sunny beach to war zone!

I’ve always kind of had the concept for this school in my head, but now it is visualized~
Instead of clicking buttons on screen to navigate to different locations like in UMCH/CC, in UMAA Maiko will be able to travel to different parts of the school freely from this aerial perspective.

I hadn’t realized how long it’s been since posting an update here so I wanted to make one. I should have a new build ready in a few days

I managed to get dialogue working like how i did it in flash with UMCH which was crucial. I made some adjustments to weapons and added a few more. I also added placeholder art for more outfits. I am currently working on offense combat where you can move around a boss. And also on defense I plan to have it where you can move to spots where allies would stand if you have no allies.

Below you can see some UI similarities to Umichan Sentoryu. That game tested a out a lot of stuff I wanted to implement in future Umichan games, such as the travel system, money, and pass time. When in ares where you can change clothes there will be a clothes hanger icon. All you need to do is click the lower area on the breasts. And similar to sentoryu there will be a money icon in the the top left and a navigation icon in the top right. There will also be a time pass icon and possibly a bed icon indication when you need to pass time or sleep. Also unlike UMCH where you click a dialogue button on screen to initiate dialogue, here you will just click on the actual characters. Also at times, a character you want to talk to may be in the area you are in, but not visible for some reason, such as busy or sleeping. if this is the case an icon will appear indicating what the action is and the characters face. I might have where clicking on these will manually force a pass time event to begin, this should cause the character to become available again.

The pic below is a example of a short dialogue happens after clicking on Jeni. The dialogue could be random banter or actually advance a story element of you need to talk to that character. Also doing other things like trying to bring up the phone, or clicking boobs might disrupt the conversation depending the character. When the prototype is out, try doing other stuff during the dialogue with Jeni. There should be at least two ways to interrupt the conversation. Also try talking to Jeni with different outfits. Similar to UMCC I am trying to add a few “what happens when” secrets you can have fun finding.

Below is an example of the phone menu. You will be able to set the color of the phone and Maiko’s nails and also change the background. For the next build you will only be able to change what gun you are using. But like in UMCC/CH the phone will be where a lot of the stats, medals, settings, galleries, etc. that are shown here.

Below are examples of the top down shooting defense section of the game. I wanted to make the guns in the game so far feel very different, even the guns that are similar such as normal and heavy water-gun. Some guns will also apply a status effects to the enemy like slowing them down etc.

I want to have it where life bars appear over the enemies on defense mode, but in offense mode where you only fight a single enemy there is a long bar at the top of the screen.

When Maiko has less than two ally characters she will be able to move to the spots where they can stand.

Also if you have doubts about the shooting mode possible overpowering the game, I am trying to make this game play as much like UMCC/CH as possible. I plan to have other minigames also such as H minigames. But I want to make sure that each minigame in here is actually pretty fun and has progression. Also since this game will be for mobile I want minigames like this where you can load up the game and play a few shooting minis quickly when you have a bit of time to burn.

Umichan Swim game updates

The full title of this game will be Umichan Maiko Splashing Surprise or UMSS for short.

I started working on this game in Flash back when Adobe announced they will be ending support for Flash soon. So I wanted to remake the game in a different engine. For this game I am using Tyranobuilder despite some issues with it loading stuff kinda slower than I would like. I decided this so I can make the game quickly and be able to export the game to different platforms including mobile.

Also since this is primarily a Visual Novel engine, making an actual “swimming” minigame became much more of a time investment that I want to spend with it. Instead of swimming the “Splashing” part will come from water balloon minigames where the objective is to pop all the balloons, which is assumed to make the girl’s swimsuits wet. The minigame will play the same way as the old school game Lights Out. So the game will be part kinetic Visual Novel and part puzzle game. The only thing you will need to decide will be what school’s to follow, Nanako or the GemCo Academy.

So far I have 20 puzzles planned. Only 10 of them will be in the main storyline of the game. The other 10 can be played from random puzzles and in the background of those puzzles other characters that are not in the main story will appear such as Luma and Savori. Or Maiko in the agent swimsuit instead of Nanako.

I am planning to get this game out this month along with Sentoryu and UMAA updates.

This is the only choice in the story. You can decided what school story path to follow. it also effects what ending animations are shown. Aside from that main decision, the rest of the game outcome is based on completing the different puzzles.

 

Last one shows the minigame, the swimsuit becomes more transparent based on the how many balloons are popped. Also the character in the background changes based on the puzzle you get.
Some characters also appear that are not in the story.

I have been adding bonus animations that take place after the main story. In the post game, you don’t really need to manage money or anything. You just go around and look for the scenes.

One more scene is confirmed to be added between Carl and Jeni that will take place at the cafe. Beyond that I want to perhaps have something with the newly redrawn Deliah also.

Aside from that, are incoming quality of life changes including having the travel screen appear faster, able to collect more panties at once, and have some hint about how to sleep. I also plan to include some of the actual photos received from where Pattie hid the camera.

The Rookie Updates

The rookie will soon be getting a fresh coat of paint the in the form of character art and animations.

A lot of the character art was already done because of other projects, so for this one, I wanted to have all the sex scenes upgraded also to have a full art update for this game.

I started making The Rookie in a much old version of tyranobuilder and recently after converting to newer versions, I have had some issues getting things to work without errors. Since I can’t possibly know how long it will take me to fix a bug, and I don’t even know if I have even found all the new bugs, I can’t have an estimated release window for this yet.

For the past two weeks I have been working with an artist who hails from the AAA game industry to work on some art for a future ARIA game. I will have more details in later posts~ I am also still working with ttrop on all of the current stuff aswell. I just wanted to capitalize on this opportunity while I could. A lot of stuff is in the works!

want this game to have more realistic looking depictions of the ARIA characters.

controls:
WASD / Arrow Keys = move camera in a direction.
Hold left click = rotate camera
left click = select units / press buttons. (click on the unit itself to select it. not the circle under it. I only have the circle so it is easier to see the unit and be able to tell what actions you can do)

The objective is to destroy all enemy ships (the yellow ships)

click on your units so see their range of movement and move them across the space field. enemies you can target will be in red when you have your unit selected. when your unit’s circle turns dark blue you can no longer do actions on it unit your next turn (after the enemies turn). Press the End Turn button to end your turn. You can also press N on the keyboard.

This is a small test for a 3D ARIA tactics game. I am still deciding what the next ARIA will be. ARIA games (aside form the VN) are centered around gameplay the involves figuring out some sort of strategy or tactics to beat the level. Not totally sure i want to use the realistic art for this or not.

There is no hentai in this game right now. it is just a test of the tactics gameplay.

I wanted to try a space shooter demo also, but last time i did a poll on it people didn’t seem to like the idea much. A space shooter is much less about tactics than this however. Once I post all the various demos/tests to they are playable. I will make a poll to see what people seem to like the most then see what i can do from there. Though I am leaning towards this already. It has a lot of potential in creating the different ship abilities from ARIA and various grids with stage hazards and more.

when all units are destroyed the game ends. there is no win screen or anything. In this demo you will just not be able to do more actions. In a actual more complete game it would move on to the next part of the game.

Since I moved this to a VN format and not doing swimming. it changes the script and the flow of the game significantly.

previously it was swimming competitions where you select your school and do win races against the other school students. winning or losing determines what scene would be shown next and overall wins determines the H scene shown at the end.

However now what happens in they are informed no swimming is allowed and instead decide to just have some fun for the day instead. This also helps establish a possible canon route for the storyline.

so now the format is the following:
after selection the school you have a chance to jump right to the ending H scene based on what school you selected if you want to follow Mira and Ace “story”.
you can also alternately view what the student do during their free time. which is all the yuri stuff.

select school 1
-> ending H-scene 1
-> yuri scenes -> puzzles for school1 -> yuri scenes -> puzzles for school1 -> etc.

select school 2
-> ending H-scene 2
-> yuri scenes -> puzzles for school2 -> yuri scenes -> puzzles for school2 -> etc.

Also since the player is only a observer this time, and not actually character in the game (ie. Maiko or Carl) it seemed odd they they were all looking at the player.
So I have spent a bit of time making the character eyes positioned left and right so they can look at each other.

Since I needed to make all these changes to the art and dialogue, along with other unrelated issues, I don’t plan to finish this game this month but I will have posted as far as I get.


small updates

I spent a lot of last weekend in a sweltering hot attic (95°F outside) fixing a suddenly leaking air conditioner. I definitely didn’t want my ceiling caving in by leaving it unattended to. I banged up my knees a bit up there and they are still sore as I type this today two or so days later on Tuesday.

It just took all my energy away and I didn’t really feel like grinding these projects after coming out of my attic. Unpredictable events like this are the reason why I can’t give any release date with any actual degree of certainty. It can only be vague at best like before the end of the month, and because life happens, even that could be inaccurate. I even skipped a family reunion event so I can’t catch up a bit on my work but it was ruined due to the AC leaking in the attic. Everything doesn’t always go as planned. but I am still chugging along though. More updates will follow later today after I get some more work done.
